Position Summary: Austal USA in Mobile, AL is seeking a Quality Inspector II. The role involves performing in-process quality assessments of vessel construction, conducting compliance audits, and utilizing non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to ensure that shipboard or industrial piping systems are leak-free, structurally sound, and ready for final QA inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-process quality assessments utilizing NDT inspection methods like VT, PT, and MT.
Consult with Class Surveyors/Customers during external inspections.
Provide guidance for workmanship corrections required.
Document, accept, or reject workmanship based on contract acceptance criteria.
Mentor and provide on-the-job training (OJT) for NDT certification of other Inspectors.
Implement and maintain vessel-specific inspection plans and requirements.
Audit the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.
