Accuracy Control Technician

Position Summary:
The Accuracy Control Technician A at Bollinger Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS, is responsible for supervising and performing visual and physical inspections, sampling, and testing to ensure products and materials meet quality, appearance, and performance standards. Working under the direction of the Quality Control Manager or division manager, this role utilizes various gauges, measuring instruments, and chemical applications to maintain product integrity and compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement operating procedures and recommend improvements or revisions.

• Inspect and supervise inspections of in-process, finished, and repair work for compliance with standards, codes, specifications, and drawings.

• Conduct material and product testing using gauges, meters, liquid penetrants, and other measuring instruments.

• Maintain calibration schedules and records for all measuring instruments.

• Document all testing and inspection results.

• Serve as liaison and escort for external inspectors.

• Collaborate with production teams to ensure proper alignment of modules in assembly and erection areas.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.

• Proficiency with gauges and measuring devices, and ability to train others.

• Leadership skills in quality control to ensure product integrity.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with customers and regulatory personnel.

• Two years of college-level coursework preferred, or high school diploma with at least four years of experience in accuracy control.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D surveying instruments.

• Familiarity with shop fabrication and assembly techniques.
