Electrical Test & Trials Worker

Job Description

Position Summary: Bollinger Shipyard is seeking an experienced Electrical Test & Trials Worker in Pascagoula, MS. This role is vital to the company's commitment to delivering high-quality vessels, as it involves extensive troubleshooting of electrical circuits, implementing rigorous testing procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance during sea trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute comprehensive electrical testing procedures across all vessel equipment and systems, including sea trials.
  • Diagnose and remediate electrical circuit issues that impede testing.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agents and customers regarding test procedures and outcomes.
  • Document and address deficiencies observed during testing.
  • Work closely with mechanical Test & Trials personnel to ensure system integration.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of electrical test and trials experience, preferably within the marine industry. Relevant training and experience will be evaluated.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Skilled in using multimeters and related tools for electrical measurements.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across various electrical systems.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable in shipbuilding processes, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Self-motivated with effective communication and coordination skills.
  • Hands-on experience with motor controllers, VFDs, transformers, relays, and AC/DC voltage systems.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to work in confined and enclosed spaces, climb, and work at elevations over 5 feet.
  • Must be able to wear and work with a respirator when necessary.
