Position Summary: General Dynamics NASSCO is offering a Summer engineering internship program that provides candidates with practical experience in an engineering department aligned with their academic curriculum and prior experience. Interns will be assigned to an engineering group in San Diego, CA, where they will engage in projects ranging from initial vessel design to the final outfitting of ships. Interns can expect to spend time in both an office and a manufacturing environment, working alongside experienced naval architects and marine engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist naval architects and marine engineers with ongoing projects.
Create and modify CAD drawings, conduct research, and perform stability and structural calculations.
Support shipboard inspections and testing with senior naval architects.
Regularly report to department managers or supervisors on the status of assigned projects.
