Position Summary: The Tugboat Engineer at Curtin Maritime is a crucial technical role that spans from junior engineer positions to Chief Engineer, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's machinery and systems. This role requires someone with a solid mechanical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. The engineer will work closely with the Port Engineer and Vessel Captain to ensure the vessels function efficiently, safely, and in line with Curtin Maritime's core values.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle daily operation and maintenance of the vessel's mechanical and electronic systems.
Troubleshoot issues related to electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the engine room to the Curtin Standard.
Manage onboard inventories, work plans, and deckhands when applicable.
