Position Summary: Austal USA in Mobile, AL, is seeking a highly proficient A Class Fitout Tradesman (Joiner) to undertake various installation and fabrication tasks associated with shipbuilding. The role requires executing duties from layout to installation of joiner items, insulating decks, and running metal with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive knowledge of blueprints and construction information and have at least three years of marine experience or five years in a similar construction trade.
Key Responsibilities:
Layout joiner items including bulkheads, doors, ceilings, and shelving, and fabricate them from drawings with minimal supervision.
Install joiner items such as bulkheads, doors, ceilings, shelving, and consoles with minimal supervision.
Perform insulation of deckheads, side shells, beams, and ducts.
Operate CNC Shear, CNC Break, and other machinery and tools related to the job.
