Position Summary: Austal USA in San Diego, CA is seeking a Crane Operator - SDCA to join their team. The Crane Operator is responsible for operating various lifting devices to move heavy loads safely and efficiently. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as an overhead crane operator in a shipyard or similar industry, with knowledge of load charts and the ability to follow hand signals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of machinery, including cranes, SPMTs, and forklifts.
Select, attach, and lift proper rigging gear for efficient and safe crane operation.
Mentor less experienced craftsmen in practical training.
May be tasked with additional responsibilities outside the normal craft requirements.
Comply with all safety and environmental rules and regulations while performing daily tasks.
