Position Summary: Eastern Shipbuilding is seeking a Painter/Sandblaster 1/C proficient in operating equipment to apply protective coatings and paints to fabricated structural steel material and other substrates. This role involves working flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, and compliance with the company's safety, environmental, and ethical policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate spray painting and sandblasting equipment in preparation for the application of protective coatings.
Clean, wash, strip, sand, and remove corrosion to prepare items for painting.
Mask and tape off areas not to be painted and select appropriate paint or mix paints to match specifications.
Utilize spray guns and other equipment and adjust controls to regulate pressure and coverage.
Maintain and disassemble painting and sandblasting equipment, keeping the workspace tidy.
