Position Summary: The Experienced AB Tugboat Deckhand at Curtin Maritime is essential for the proper functioning and operation of marine transportation vessels. Adhering to the core values of efficiency, innovation, and integrity, Deckhands II and III perform a wide range of duties from vessel maintenance to deck operations under the guidance of the Port Captain and Vessel Captain, maintaining the Curtin Standard onboard.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently work on projects and complete tasks safely as directed by the supervisor, while proactively learning and becoming proficient with various vessels in the fleet.
Conduct deck operations including making and breaking tow in various configurations, handling lines, and performing basic maintenance such as painting, greasing, and rigging.
Assist with engine room duties such as reading gauges, logging operations, identifying anomalies, performing basic maintenance, and tracing systems.
