OVERVIEW  We are seeking a dedicated Outside Machinist with preferably at least 5 years of machining experience. The candidate will install vessel machinery using blueprints and hand tools, with knowledge of some aspects of air controls and tubing bending. REQUIREMENTS  Minimum of 5 years of marine experience in a shipyard setting Good working knowledge of system start-up procedures, propulsion system alignment, and machinery plants Knowledge of how to use necessary tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, heavy jacks, chain falls, torch, etc.) Some experience or background in welding Diesel experience is a plus SKILLS  Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings Strong understanding of marine construction techniques and best practices Ability to use precision tools and equipment effectively Familiarity with commercial and military specifications and standards Good problem-solving skills...
