Position Summary: The QA Inspector 1/C at Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. is a critical position supporting government and commercial shipbuilding projects. This individual is responsible for conducting in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, the company's Quality Management System (QMS), contractual requirements, and workmanship standards across various phases of ship construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct various inspections including ship hull fabrication, module erection, tank close-out, tank leak testing, pipe fabrication, and machinery placement.
Verify compliance with the contract inspection plans as well as inspections for Suppliers and/or Subcontractors.
Interact with project construction team members, craft superintendents, customer representatives, and regulatory body inspectors coordinating quality inspections.
Document and report deficient work and recommend corrective actions.
