Position Summary: General Dynamics NASSCO, located in Norfolk, VA, has an opening in the Lagging department for an Insulator. This role requires proficiency in various levels of insulation application, including the design and fabrication of lagging pads, installation on various ship systems, and understanding of appropriate materials for specific insulation tasks. The candidate should be adept at reading and interpreting insulation drawings and knowledgeable about ship nomenclature. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret insulation drawings and complete layout and installation. Design and fabricate lagging pads for various ship components and systems. Install lagging pads on pipe flanges, valves, ventilation systems, and engine exhaust systems. Create and fit miters out of calcium silicate and install on steam systems. Apply finishing cement on calcium silicate seams. Assist in laying out overhead and bulkhead structures with waffle back studs....
