Position Summary: St. Johns Shipbuilding in Palatka, FL is currently looking for a highly capable Marine Electrician. This individual will be specializing in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems aboard maritime vessels, playing a crucial role in the shipyard's ability to deliver vessels with reliable and safe electrical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair a variety of electrical systems and equipment on marine vessels, including wiring, lighting, generators, and navigation systems.
  • Interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents to guide work practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics on onboard electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Liaise closely with other departmental teams to ensure coordination and seamless integration of electrical systems during shipbuilding or repair processes.
  • Comply with marine electrical codes, best practices, and safety procedures.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Proven track record and experience as a Marine Electrician with deep knowledge of maritime electrical systems.
  • Technical qualification or certification in electrical engineering or marine electrics.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance related to marine electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work methodically and with attention to detail.
