Crane Operator

Position Summary: St. Johns Shipbuilding is looking to hire a qualified Crane Operator to manage the safe and efficient operation of crane machinery for our maritime projects in Palatka, FL. The Crane Operator will play an essential role in moving materials and equipment throughout the shipyard, adhering to strict safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate various types of cranes, including tower, mobile, and overhead cranes, within the shipyard.
• Perform daily safety inspections of the crane machinery and report any malfunctions or issues.
• Plan lifts and moves carefully, considering load weights, weather conditions, and project requirements.
• Cooperate with rigging teams and ground personnel to ensure the safe handling and placement of loads.
• Maintain accurate operation logs and participate in safety briefings and training.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Proven experience operating cranes in a maritime or industrial setting.
• Familiarity with crane safety standards, rigging procedures, and load calculations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with other personnel.
• Ability to respond to changing work conditions and operational demands.
