Pipe Fitter

Position Summary: St. Johns Shipbuilding is actively seeking a highly skilled Pipe Fitter for our Palatka, FL location. This essential role requires experience in assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems on marine vessels, ensuring all work is performed according to industry regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret system specifications, blueprints, and layouts for maritime piping installations.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install pipes according to project requirements.
• Inspect and test piping systems for leaks, pressure variances, and overall integrity.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment pertinent to pipe fitting operations.
• Coordinate with other tradespeople to ensure proper integration of piping systems within ship design.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Demonstrable experience as a Pipe Fitter, preferably in a shipbuilding environment.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding technical plans and marine system specifications.
• Capable of performing precise measurements and modifications to pipe materials.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to shipbuilding and pipe fitting.
• Physical dexterity and capacity to work in various onboard environments.
