Marine Systems Technician

Job Description

Position Summary: Tampa Bay Ship is expanding its team with the addition of a Marine Systems Technician who will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems onboard vessels. The role requires a multifaceted skill set, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve complex issues within marine systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and commission marine systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing components.
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on vessel systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, providing timely and accurate repairs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure system integration aligns with design specifications and project deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of system statuses, maintenance schedules, and inventory of parts and supplies.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Technical proficiency in MEP systems, preferably within a marine context.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex tasks.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and documenting technical information.
  • Commitment to safety standards and best practices in marine engineering.
