Job Description

Position Summary: Tampa Bay Ship is currently recruiting Structural Welders to provide critical welding services for shipbuilding and repair operations in Tampa, Florida. This role offers the opportunity to work full-time onsite, delivering high-quality welds for various maritime projects. The successful candidate must be proficient in multiple welding processes and capable of performing in all positions required by shipbuilding specifications and blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld metal components together to fabricate or repair ship structures, following blueprints and layout specifications.
  • Use multiple welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.
  • Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, maintaining equipment in good condition.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and practices, and participate in safety training and briefings.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications or proven experience in various welding techniques used in the maritime industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations related to welding and hot work.
  • Willingness to work on various shifts as projects require, including the potential for overtime.
