Position Summary: BAE Systems Maritime Solutions Division in Jacksonville, Florida is recruiting a Superintendent I for the Commercial Vessel and Yacht Program. This program is expanding, with the construction of a new 25,000-ton ship lift and associated land-based drydock facility due to be operational in early 2025. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and capable individual, eager to grow into a Project Manager role. This exciting position involves planning, directing, and coordinating project activities for commercial and yacht projects, interfacing with customers, proposing repair solutions, and leading safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee commercial and yacht projects, ensuring goals and objectives are accomplished.
  • Liaise with customers, functioning as the primary company contact, and effectively represent the commercial vessel and yacht program.
  • Scope and propose repair solutions, ensuring value for customers.
  • Engage in business development and sales efforts, as well as estimating ship and yacht repair for proposals and active projects.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of shipboard systems and equipment to provide effective repair solutions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • 8+ years of shipyard project management experience, Navy or Merchant Marine-related experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience combination.
  • Proven business development and sales experience within the commercial repair market.
  • Budgeting and contract negotiation skills for industrial projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Degree from a marine academy or background in marine engineering strongly preferred.
  • Sales and shipyard experience.
  • Strong project management skills with the ambition to progress rapidly to a Project Manager role.

Pay Information: Full-Time Salary Range: $60,076 - $102,130
