Manual Machinist

Position Summary:
BAE Systems Maritime Solutions in Jacksonville, Florida, is offering an opportunity for a Manual Machinist with valve repair experience to join the inside machine shop team. This full-time position may require overtime work to meet production demands. The ideal candidate will engage in activities utilizing various machines and assist in repairing equipment and system components. Required skills include operating manual machine shop equipment, precision measurement, and performing tasks in a machining environment that utilizes cutting fluids and oils. Dependability and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this skilled trade.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual machine shop equipment such as lathes and milling machines.
• Maintain and repair various types of valves, including gate and globe valves.
• Show up for work on time and work overtime, including weekends, when needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience operating manual machine shop equipment and performing industrial valve repair.
• Strong basic math skills with the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) access card.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years' experience operating manual machine shop equipment.
• Experience using tools and machinery required for valve repair duties.
• Proficiency in writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and gauges.

Pay Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $44,720 - $74,360
