Position Summary:
BAE Systems Maritime Solutions Jacksonville is seeking experienced Crane Operators for full-time onsite positions. Crane Operators at BAE Systems play a pivotal role in the safe and efficient transportation of materials such as machinery and equipment within the shipyard. Key responsibilities include inspecting the worksite, safely operating cranes in accordance with capacity limits and weather conditions, and planning and executing tasks with precision. The chosen candidates will ensure the highest standards of workmanship to support the company's mission to deliver quality products and services to the U.S. military.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect work sites before crane setup to ensure safety and suitability.
  • Transport materials following safety guidelines and crane operating procedures.
  • Plan and position rigging equipment strategically for safe and efficient task completion.
  • Perform daily inspections and document logs as legal records.
  • Conduct regular maintenance (lubrication) and be proficient in the assembly and disassembly of qualified cranes.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety practices and maintain an organized worksite.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • NCCER/NCCO certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in hydraulic mobile crane operation in shipyards or similar environments.
  • Current DOT physical certification.
  • Ability to pass written and practical crane operation exams.
  • Proficiency in reading load charts and interpreting hand and voice signals.
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining DBIDS access.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Additional qualifications for operating Portal, Lattice boom, and Friction-type cranes.
  • Experience with Link-Belt, Liebherr, Carry-Deck, and Manitowoc cranes.
