Job Description

Position Summary:
BAE Systems Maritime Solutions in Jacksonville, Florida, is looking to hire Riggers, ranging from entry-level to those with extensive experience. The Riggers will join the Rigging Shop Mechanic team, where they will perform vital mechanical duties involving various tasks on deck machinery, engine rooms, electronic equipment, and other ship-related components. The role also includes carrying out load and pull testing on different types of equipment. The ideal candidates will work under minimal oversight, demonstrating strong leadership skills, ability to plan and execute work proficiently, and ensure the highest quality of executed workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform rigging duties on deck machinery, engine room work, and related electronic equipment.
  • Execute load and pull testing of equipment as needed.
  • Operate and maintain equipment under the guidelines of supervisory staff.
  • Comply with company safety policies and procedures diligently.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and display strong leadership skills to guide subordinate mechanics.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable and experienced in mechanical duties related to ship components.
  • Must be able to obtain DBIDS for Mayport Base facility access.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and employees at all skill levels.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Two years or more of Rigging Mechanic experience.
  • Experience in ship repair, heavy industry in rigging, or similar disciplines.
