Position Summary:
BAE Systems seeks an Accuracy Control Metrology Technician to join the Platforms & Services sector in Jacksonville, Florida. The technician will play a crucial role, employing a diverse array of 3-dimensional and optic tooling equipment, to execute the critical alignment of ship components and pairing major modules. The role requires not only a profound understanding of quality and accuracy control but also strong expertise in precision measurement and data analysis to support the Accuracy Control Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine the proper tooling required for jobs and transport tooling to various shipyard sites.
- Complete measurements as per procedural data sheets with high accuracy.
- Transfer collected data to the Accuracy Control Engineer and assist with analysis and data review.
- Engage in tasks that support the critical alignment of ships' components.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of quality control, construction, fabrication, and alignment.
- Ability to comprehend units of measure, read scales, tape measures, and levels.
- Proficient in interpreting drawings, plans, tolerances, and construction diagrams.
- Effective communication skills with management and employees at all levels.
- Self-starter with motivation to learn new technology.
- Must obtain DBIDS and Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree, or 5+ years related to surveying.
- Solid understanding of coordinate systems and background in shipbuilding, construction, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of construction tolerance block during build sequence.
- Skilled in optical level, total station, and laser tracker, including measurement recording.
- Experience with Spatial Analyzer, CAMM2, PolyWorks software, and machine shop dimensional inspections.

Pay Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $77,772 - $124,435
