Fitter/Fabricators

Position Summary:
BAE Systems at its Jacksonville, Florida location is actively seeking to hire Fitter/Fabricators from entry-level to experienced mechanics for night shift fabrication operations. This role is integral to the production process, requiring team collaboration to achieve optimal results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute fabrication and fitting of metal components to precise specifications.
• Assemble and install materials such as beams, channels, angles, and plates.
• Work with steel, stainless, and aluminum, employing proper welding, cutting, grinding, and shaping techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints, section and plan drawings, and familiarize with weld symbols.
• Operate industry-standard tools and equipment and perform tasks like installing, using, and removing relevant fixtures.
• Utilize shop equipment including iron workers, brake presses, and plate rollers.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Ability to fabricate and fit metal components and structures.
• Skilled in various metalworking techniques and familiar with industry tools.
• Capability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Team-based approach to achieve fabrication goals.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years shipyard Journeyperson level experience is advantageous.
• Ability to fabricate components based on NAVSEA drawing requirements.
• Experience with overhead cranes and shop equipment.
• Ability to work weekends and various shifts as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Full-time onsite work during the designated shift (night shift).
• Candidates must possess physical abilities to perform job duties and work with necessary equipment.

Pay Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $35,048 - $62,400
