Electrical Mechanical Technician

Position Summary:
BAE Systems, a leader in defense, aerospace, and security solutions, is seeking an Electrical Mechanical Technician for its Platforms & Services sector in Louisville, Kentucky. This full-time onsite position involves performing various semi-skilled manual labor tasks and assisting higher-grade employees with disassembly and assembly operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the quality of all work executed and will work under the minimal instruction of Team Leaders and alongside other skilled assemblers. The technician will also be required to maintain workplace standards and adhere strictly to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out a variety of assembly and disassembly tasks at the component or subassembly level.
• Work under the guidance of Team Leaders and Electrical Mechanical Assemblers or Working Leads.
• Maintain an inventory of Work in Progress (WIP) and ensure the integrity of production orders.
• Adhere to safety rules and practices, maintaining high housekeeping standards in the work area.
• Accurately record all work done through a computerized time and attendance system.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Strong manual dexterity and the ability to perform routine or heavy manual tasks.
• Ability to independently follow oral and written instructions.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, military specifications, and technical manuals.
• Aptitude for using hand and power tools and material moving equipment (e.g., carts, pallet trucks, cranes).

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, and climbing.
• Regularly handling objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting objects up to 40 pounds.

Pay Information:

• Hourly Rate: $31.36/hr
• Wage terms are governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
