Senior Principal Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:
BAE Systems Platforms & Services is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer experienced in leading development and production teams for Launching Systems products. As an Electrical Engineering Lead based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the role will involve both hybrid and full-time onsite work. The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing the design and implementation of missile launching systems and missile canisters, managing project timeframes and costs, and mentoring staff. The position requires someone with a strong foundation in launching systems, who can establish effective relationships with US DOD customers, provide technical and managerial briefings, and strategize internal research and development activities that align with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development teams under general direction from Program Management.
• Ensure design thoroughness and adherence to schedule and cost requirements.
• Manage and support multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Present technical assessments and project updates to senior management and customers.
• Develop and maintain effective strategies to overcome potential technical hurdles.
• Identify, manage, and execute IRAD activities.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Proven experience with launching systems design and support during production.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to create and manage project plans and coordinate work activities.
• Proficient in engineering problem-solving and electrical system design.
• Familiarity with schematics, assembly drawings, and parts lists.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Experience integrating with USN fire control systems.
• Prior work with relevant military and commercial design standards.
• Knowledge of electronic testing equipment and mixed technology product testing.
• Familiarity with Mk 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) Launch Control System products.

Pay Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $130,355 - $221,603
