Position Summary:
BAE Systems is actively seeking entry-level welders from our Trade School Partners, particularly those currently enrolled or recent graduates of Universal Technical Institute - Exton, to join our Platforms & Services sector in York, Pennsylvania. This full-time onsite position offers the opportunity to engage in vehicle fabrication utilizing various welding techniques such as MIG wire, dual shield, flux core, submerged arc, TIG, and stick electrode welding, among others. The successful candidate will be integral in setting up and operating welding equipment, interacting with supportive roles, and adhering to safety and quality standards set by the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set-up and operation of hand-held or machine-guided welding equipment.
- Material joining using positioners, fixtures, or hand layout as per process documentation.
- Operate welding processes including but not limited to MIG wire, flux core, TIG, stick electrode welding, and cutting.
- Utilize support equipment such as cranes and various hand tools.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, technicians, and inspection personnel.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- 0-1 Years of welding experience, recently enrolled or graduated from Universal Technical Institute - Exton.
- Proficiency in using PCs or data acquisition devices.
- Experience handling tools, machinery, and materials listed in the job description.
- Must pass medical fit for duty examination including pulmonary function and vision screenings.
- Willingness to receive training and certification in applicable welding specifications.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Understanding of weld symbols and process specifications.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Full-time onsite role with required fitness and health screenings.
- Frequent handling and operation of tools and equipment.
- Abilities to stand for long periods, stoop, bend, reach, and climb.

Pay Information:
Hourly Rate: $31.36/hr plus a 28% shift differential. Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
