Position Summary:
BAE Systems is seeking an Electrical Mechanical Technician to join our Platforms & Services sector in Louisville, Kentucky. This full-time, onsite role involves performing a vast array of semi-skilled manual labor and assembly tasks under the guidance of experienced team leads. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, capable of working with minimal instruction, and highly attentive to the quality of work. The technician will be instrumental in various assembly and disassembly operations at the component or subassembly level, maintaining workstation tidiness, and adhering to company safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diverse manual tasks such as drilling, filing, deburring, and tapping.
- Assist with the assembly and disassembly of components or subassemblies.
- Follow clear instructions from Team Leaders and work alongside Electrical Mechanical Assemblers or Working Leads.
- Contribute to maintaining housekeeping standards in the work area.
- Interface with the computerized timekeeping system to document work accurately.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- High school diploma and 5+ years of experience in electrical maintenance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in following oral and written instructions.
- Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, military specs, and technical manuals.
- Competency in using hand and power tools, as well as operating material handling equipment such as carts and cranes.
- Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude with the potential to perform routine or heavy manual tasks.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for long periods, stoop, bend, reach, and climb.
- Frequently handles objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts objects up to 40 pounds.
Pay Information:
- Hourly Rate: $31.36/hr plus a 28% shift differential.
- Wages governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
