Position Summary:
BAE Systems is looking for a Certified Welding Inspector to join the dedicated team in Aiken, South Carolina. As a Certified Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting weldments according to various codes, applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, addressing non-conformances, and providing technical quality support to both production and engineering. Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and work to prescribed specifications.
- Conduct thorough inspections of weldments to meet diverse code requirements.
- Apply GD&T concepts in a practical setting.
- Process non-conformances and determine suitable solutions.
- Provide technical quality support for production and engineering.
- Perform various types of welding inspections, including Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Testing (MT), and Penetrant Testing (PT).
Work Schedule:
- Rotating schedule with a blend of 10-hour weekday and weekend shifts, totaling 40 hours a week on a 4/10 schedule.
- Shifts may change based on the needs of the business, with the possibility of floating shifts.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) qualification.
- Minimum H.S. Diploma with 2+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and professional background in quality inspection, welding, NDT, etc.
- Competence in using MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of GD&T.
- Familiarity with reading and understanding raw material specifications.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Experience with Oracle MRP system.
- First Article inspection preparation proficiency.
- Knowledge of PFEMAs and writing inspection plans.
- Experience with Laser Scanner inspection technology.
- Solid understanding of GD&T.
- Familiarity with quality tools.

Pay Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $70,735 - $120,250
