Outfitting Production Supervisor

Position Summary: Hanwha Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia, PA, is recruiting an Outfitting Production Supervisor responsible for overseeing the activities of a team engaged in yard production tasks such as shipbuilding and repair. The supervisor ensures compliance with safety procedures and regulations, hires and disciplines team members, coordinates team activities, and maintains a quality and efficient working environment. The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree or considerable experience within a shipyard or heavy steel structure environment, along with supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uphold Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Supervise and coordinate a production team with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Examine potential team candidates, managing both positive reinforcement and discipline.
• Assure smooth, trouble-free production activities and maintain a tidy workspace.
• Foster team motivation and training, implementing best practices for optimal results.
• Provide work progress feedback, including used production hours and quality outcomes.
• Ensure machine and equipment readiness, coordinate with preparation teams, and conduct internal and external inspections.
• Perform tasks according to quality standards and participate in the manning tracking, progress reporting, and budget control.

Qualifications:

• Degree in mechanical engineering or naval architecture is preferred.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience in shipyards or related fields.
