Job Description

Position Summary: Hanwha Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Shipbuilder to join its team. The Shipbuilder will be responsible for various tasks in line with Hanwha Philly Shipyard's safety procedures and terminologies. The role requires individuals to work according to set instructions and use a diverse range of shipbuilding tools. The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least four years of experience in shipyards or related heavy steel structures, and knowledge of reading blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures, rules, and regulations at the shipyard.
  • Work independently, utilizing shipbuilding tools and reading technical documents.
  • Participate in assembly, production, pre-outfitting, panel cutting, and hot work preparation, ensuring area protection.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces and conduct hot work with responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in shipyards or with heavy steel structures.
