Welder

Position Summary: Hanwha Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a skilled Welder to join their team. The Welder will be responsible for performing heavy shipyard construction welding in various positions following the Welding Procedure Specification approved by Hanwha Philly Shipyard and classification society. This includes proficiency in FCAW, SMAC, SAW, EGW, and automated processes, ensuring safety procedures are followed to meet high-quality standards and classification rules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform heavy shipyard construction welding using various processes according to approved specifications.
• Understand and interpret approved welding procedures and demonstrate proficient welding ability through performance and testing.
• Maintain welding equipment, conduct internal quality checks, and meet individual NDT rejection standards.
• Work effectively within a team and train lesser-skilled welders.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years of welding experience, specifically in flux core and ceramic welding.
• Experience with welding robotics and programming is a plus.
