Job Description

Position Summary: Hanwha Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Compliance Manager, an essential role ensuring safety and adherence to HPSI CORE principals and U.S. Import/Export Laws. This individual will work within the guidelines of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Regulations, overseeing the company-wide export control compliance program, managing trade compliance activities, implementing policies, providing regulatory interpretation, and ensuring that the company complies with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure HPSI safety procedures and Import/Export laws are followed, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and USCBP Regulations.
  • Oversee export control compliance, updating policies, classifying goods, technology, and software, preparing export license applications, and managing documents.
  • Conduct denied party screening for all entities interacting with HPSI.
  • Provide training and support external audits and internal reviews.
  • Develop trade compliance training programs and evaluate company operations against regulations, offering solutions.
  • Interpret export classifications and provide guidance on tariff classifications, sanctions, and anti-boycott regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in trade compliance or related field.
  • Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and U.S. Customs regulations.
