Pipe Foreman

Position Summary: Alabama Shipyard in Mobile, AL, is looking to hire a Pipe Foreman for ship repair. The Pipe Foreman will direct a team within the Pipe Department to ensure that quality and safety standards are met while staying on schedule and within budget. This individual will operate under the supervision of the Pipe Superintendent and is expected to have five years of experience in vessel repair specifically in Pipe Fitting and Pipe Welding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the Operations Manager, Superintendent, and craftsman for project execution.
• Exhibit leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Understand project-specific documents and drawings.
• Supervise and ensure safe work practices among the team members.
• Maintain a supply inventory for project needs and keep updated records and certifications.
• Assist in creating safety analyses and guidelines for job operations.
• Conduct crew work with safety interdependence and perform additional duties as needed.
• Be available for overtime work as required.

Qualifications:

• General knowledge of equipment and tools required for pipe fitting and welding.
• Basic computer skills.

Experience Required:

• Five years of experience in vessel repair focusing on Pipe Fitting and Pipe Welding.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Basic computer skills for maintaining records and communications.

Work Environment:

• The role may involve exposure to humid conditions, bright flashing lights, mechanical parts, heights, extreme weather conditions, and noisy environments.
