Subcontract Administrator

Job Description

Position Summary: Alabama Shipyard, an esteemed shipyard with a rich history dating back to 1916, is seeking a Subcontract Administrator to join their team in Mobile, AL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting contractual requirements, drafting and negotiating agreements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Develop and critically review company policies and procedures related to subcontracting.
  • Research regulatory requirements and maintain compliance with applicable laws.
  • Evaluate subcontractor proposals and issue Subcontract Purchase Orders in alignment with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial or government contracting or a related field.

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum two years of experience in contracting or related field.
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.

Location: Mobile, AL

Experience Required:

  • At least two years in commercial or government contracting.

Work Environment:

  • The Subcontract Administrator will work at Alabama Shipyard’s extensive facility, which offers deep-water access and accommodates some of the largest vessels in operation.
