Accuracy Control Inspector

Job Description

Position Summary: Austal USA, located in Mobile, AL, is looking for a dedicated Accuracy Control Inspector II to engage in shipbuilding accuracy determination using survey instruments. This role involves monitoring and verifying dimensional quality during fabrication and assembly, ensuring minimization of rework, performing measurement surveys, and supporting product compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong mathematical skills, leadership qualities, and familiarity with engineering software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the accuracy of shipbuilding using alignment fundamentals and survey instruments.
  • Monitor and verify dimensional quality during fabrication, assembly, and final stages.
  • Perform measurement surveys using advanced electronic tools to support product compliance.
  • Mentor and lead projects to improve overall production quality.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with industrial measurement and survey instruments.
  • A high level of mathematical skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and drafting/computer-aided design.
