Job Description

Position Summary: Austal USA, based in Mobile, AL, is offering a competitively paid position for a B Class Pipe Fitter. Reporting to the Supervisor, the Pipe Fitter is responsible for various pipefitting tasks in a team environment. The position requires adherence to blueprints and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Collaborative work within the team and a proactive work ethic are expected to achieve Austal's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints for pipefitting.
  • Measure, fabricate, thread, bend, and install piping according to specs.
  • Test pipe systems for leaks and confirm they meet specifications.
  • Oversee and maintain housekeeping to ensure a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Coordinate daily assignments with teammates, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • One year minimum experience at Austal or two years in a similar role at another employer is preferred.
  • Ability to pass the B Class pipefitters tests (written and practical).
