Position Summary:
Bollinger Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a Material Program Coordinator responsible for compiling, monitoring, and reporting on material health and status to support program milestones and objectives. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with various departments and ensure efficient material management throughout production.
Key Responsibilities:
Interface with Material Program Managers, Buyers, Accounting, Production Control, and suppliers
Verify and distribute material in the yard, including tracking projected delivery and receipt dates
Read and understand purchase order requirements
Communicate with production, purchasing, and engineering regarding utilization of excess material to avoid duplicate orders
Coordinate with receiving warehouse to validate purchase order requirements against received items
Organize and file documents per department requirements
Develop and publish metrics assessing business system health (e.g., time on shelf, order vs need date)
Coordinate with Parts Master, Planning, and Engineering for new parts creation
Compile weekly reports on material impacts and status for assigned programs
Assist in meeting program goals related to material health and production support
Follow company policies including safety, environmental, and quality systems
Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as needed
Qualifications:
Well-organized with experience in resource planning and scheduling
Ability to multi-task and manage large volumes of work
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good written and oral communication skills
Good organizational skills
Ability to read and understand purchase order requirements
Familiarity with materials, yard functions, and procedures
