Position Summary:
Bollinger Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a motivated Naval Architect Intern for a full-time, on-site summer internship. This opportunity is designed for students pursuing a degree in Naval Architecture to gain hands-on experience by supporting the Engineering department through research, technical documentation, structural calculations, and model analysis. The intern will work collaboratively with engineers and designers, applying academic knowledge in a professional shipbuilding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Engineering with research and preparation of technical documentation
Perform general office tasks including organizing reports and maintaining engineering records
Conduct structural calculations and weight take-offs
Assist in developing 2D drawings, 3D modeling, and analyzing models using GHS software
Participate in incline experiments and deadweight surveys
Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and other personnel on projects
Qualifications:
Currently a junior or senior enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Naval Architecture program
Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills, proactive attitude, and willingness to learn
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
