Position Summary:
BMS Engineering in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a VFI Expeditor responsible for reviewing material purchasing requirements and managing vendor data processes to support project material purchases. This non-executive role involves close coordination with various departments including Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, and Production Control, ensuring accurate and timely updates to electronic bills of materials and project documentation. The VFI Expeditor reports directly to the Document Control Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Interface with Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Purchasing, Accounting, Production Control, and management
Oversee engineering activities related to parts and parts maintenance
Create and manage the electronic bill of materials in the ERP system
Monitor accuracy in databases, bills of materials, drawing management, part listings, and material ordering
Assemble and maintain project files within SharePoint
Qualifications:
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in expediting vendor information or related field
Degree in Logistics, Design Engineering, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Experience with suppliers, integrated data environments (IDE), purchasing systems, and ERP systems preferred
