Oiler

Position Summary:
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co is seeking full-time Oilers to support operations aboard hydraulic dredges and support vessels near the Gulf Coast, based out of Port Isabel, TX. This hands-on maritime role involves lubricating and maintaining marine equipment such as diesel engines, pumps, and bearings. The Oiler may also operate machinery and assist engineers in monitoring and repairing equipment. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious and physically capable of handling equipment and parts up to 75 lbs, while contributing to the efficient and safe functioning of dredging operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oil and grease marine equipment such as diesel engines, pumps, shafts, and bearings

• Operate marine diesel engines and other machinery

• Relieve engineer on main engine and generator watch in the control booth

• Assist with engine room repairs

• Inspect fuel, water, oil, and slop oil tank levels

• Lift, carry, pull, or push equipment and supplies weighing up to 75 lbs

• Follow all safety procedures and promote safe working conditions

Qualifications:

• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety policies

• Ability to perform specialized work aboard dredges and support vessels

• Must complete a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check

• Valid TWIC card required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Work aboard dredges and marine support vessels

• Physically demanding role, including lifting up to 75 lbs

• Exposure to marine and industrial environments

Reports to the Engineer or designated supervisory personnel
