Person In Charge (PIC)

Position Summary: Bay Ship & Yacht Co., situated on the San Francisco Bay waterfront in Alameda, CA, is looking for a Person In Charge (PIC) to perform Over the Water Liquid Transfer (OWLT) operations and lead abatement processes. The duties include setting up, overseeing, and documenting OWLT, conducting qualitative water-in-fuel tests, managing lead abatement, and supporting other safety tasks under the direction of Safety Management. This position is a crucial support role requiring effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct all aspects of OWLT evolutions, including setup, transfer, breakdown, cleaning, and documentation.
• Perform OWLT tool and equipment maintenance and qualitative water-in-fuel tests as required.
• Identify and prepare areas for lead abatement, execute the process, and maintain related equipment.
• Support various work processes throughout Bay Ship & Yacht facilities and projects as needed.
• Complete safety-related tasks to support shipyard operations under the direction of the PIC Superintendent or Safety Management.

Qualifications:

• Completion of in-house PIC training course, 48 hours of documented OJT, and Lead Abatement Training.
• Fundamental knowledge and experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and wear respiratory protection.

Physical Demands:

• Performing tasks that require lifting, standing, and wearing protective gear for extended periods.
