Carpenter

Position Summary: Bay Ship & Yacht Co., located in Alameda, CA, seeks experienced Marine Carpenters/Boat Builders/Shipwrights for new construction and repair work. Experts in their field, these carpenters will be involved in remarkable projects, including historic vessel reconstruction and modern yacht and commercial vessel refits. The setting of the shipyard on the San Francisco Bay waterfront provides a spectacular work environment, combined with the opportunity to join a team of exceptional artisans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Remove, repair, and install teak decking systems.
• Repair, restore, and construct wooden vessels.
• Utilize various hand and power tools in the boat-building and construction trade.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience in maritime carpentry, decking systems, wooden vessel restoration, or construction trade.
• Skilled with basic hand and power tools and woodworking.
• Willingness to work hard, learn, and operate in a team environment.
• Expected to supply own hand tools and be knowledgeable in their use and maintenance.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• The role is based in Bay Ship & Yacht's Alameda boatyard with splendid views of the San Francisco Bay.
• Clean-up duties are part of the role to ensure a safe and neat work environment.
