Risk & Claims AP Analyst Workers' Compensation

Position Summary: The Risk & Claims AP Analyst Workers' Compensation at General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego, CA, is tasked with the prompt and accurate processing of vendor invoices and specialized projects. This role supports various internal departments such as Risk Management and Supply Chain Management, while also maintaining external communications with suppliers. The individual in this role will report to the Workers’ Compensation Manager and will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the risk management program, in addition to supporting insurance renewal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process manual vendor payments, ensuring all approvals and documentation requirements are met.
• Review and verify vendor agreements and W-9 forms for compliance.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and provide administrative or analytical support for projects.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end reports for compliance and audits.
• Manage data entry tasks while maintaining accuracy and up-to-date information.
• Maintain both digital and physical records in accordance with established filing systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams to validate payment and vendor information.
• Maintain data integrity and confidentiality following company policies.
• Contribute to NASSCO's risk management program and support insurance renewal processes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with Accounts Payable or finance experience.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general office tools.
• Accurate data input skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Familiarity with accounting principles, vendor management, and W-9 forms preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to continuous improvement regarding safety, quality, and cost reduction.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Requires specific vision abilities including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Regularly required to sit, use hands to handle objects, and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to walk to various locations within the shipyard.
• General exposure to moderate noise levels.

Reporting: Reports to the Workers’ Compensation Manager.
