Accuracy Control Manager

Position Summary:
Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. is seeking an Accuracy Control Manager responsible for processing and ensuring nest tapes meet production process requirements and coordinating lofting with panel line production for unit blocks. The role demands a professional with a strong background in engineering, construction, lofting, or a related field, along with supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with production planning to ensure burn schedule requirements are met.
• Develop construction jigs and temporary structures for dimensional accuracy of blocks.
• Oversee plate and structure procurement for hull construction and verify panel measurements during fabrication.
• Ensure critical alignments during construction and erection and communicate changes or issues to Production and Engineering.
• Respond to production queries related to dimensional control or drawing interpretation.

Essential Duties:

• Monitor and manage the Accuracy Control department to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Utilize electronic and laser measuring equipment for optimal accuracy control.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field with 5-7 years of lofting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience using electronic and laser measuring equipment and knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, and work independently or as part of a team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly or indirectly supervise the Accuracy Control department's staff, including hiring, training, planning, and overseeing work.

Requirements:

• Must demonstrate multitasking abilities and maintain confidentiality regarding Eastern Shipbuilding Group details.

Physical Demands:

• Office-based role requiring communication, use of office equipment, and the ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment:

• Professional office setting with occasional risk of electrical shock and low to moderate noise levels.
