Electrician 2/C

Position Summary:
Eastern Shipbuilding is seeking a capable Electrician 2/C to perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on marine vessels and shipyard buildings, following plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role requires familiarity with marine electrical systems and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in marine environments.
• Test electrical systems using multi-meters to ensure power continuity, diagnose problems, and perform repairs or replacements.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on switchboards, electrical panels, electrical motors, alarm systems, and lighting systems.
• Collaborate with other craftspeople to complete required tasks and work on electrical projects efficiently.
• Follow company and regulatory safety rules and policies while working.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED with three to five years of experience in electrical and electromechanical systems maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
• Familiarity with marine electrical systems and regulations.
• Effective use of various hand and power tools and comprehension of safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

• Regular communication and frequent use of hands; ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the day.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and be medically qualified to wear personal protection equipment.
• Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces, and withstand extreme temperatures.

Work Environment:

• Full-time position that may require flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Work may expose employees to electrical shocks, moving parts, vibrations, and loud noise within a shipyard setting.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
