Position Summary:
Curtin Maritime is seeking an experienced Shipyard Project Coordinator to oversee various maritime construction projects at the shipyard. The successful candidate will possess strong project management skills, a deep understanding of maritime construction processes, and the ability to lead teams efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate multiple shipyard projects simultaneously, providing updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Handle resource allocation and track project progress, ensuring projects remain within budget and on schedule.
  • Utilize strong project management skills to optimize project execution, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and external clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Who You Are:

  • Possess at least 5 years of experience in project coordination or scheduling within a shipyard or maritime construction environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Maritime Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and maritime safety certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of guiding project teams towards successful completion.
  • Adaptable to dynamic project demands with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor shipyard environments and operating heavy machinery.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in a shipyard setting, which may include confined spaces.
  • Physical agility to frequently climb and navigate ladders, stairs, and uneven surfaces.
  • Capacity to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 40 lbs, and maintain balance in high-motion environments.
  • Adequate sensory capabilities, including hearing and vision, for maintaining safety and awareness.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position based in an office setting, with occasional travel required.
  • The role might demand extended working hours during peak project periods or unexpected travel scenarios.

Reporting:

  • Reports to senior leadership within the Shipyard Overhead department.
