Position Summary: The Field Engineer (Survey) at Curtin Maritime is a vital role designed for a professional who embodies innovation, efficiency, and integrity. The position focuses on managing all survey-related aspects of marine construction projects, including technical and operational contributions to the Operations Team, collecting and processing survey data, and assisting with project management tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the survey team, managing survey assets such as boats, trailers, and sonar equipment.
  • Collaborate with project management to develop detailed project plans based on survey data.
  • Act as a primary client contact for all survey matters.
  • Gather and analyze data to support both ongoing projects and the bid team's future project estimations.
  • Assist Project Managers in establishing and administrating job sites for dredging projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in Survey, with a preference for hydrographic expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, and familiarity with survey software like AutoCAD and Hypack.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage projects efficiently in dynamic environments.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal guidance and collaborate across teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (preferred).
  • U.S. Passport, valid TWIC card, and OSHA 30-Hour certification (desirable).
  • Knowledge of RMS 3.0, MS Project or Primavera P6, and USACE CQC certification (beneficial).
  • Skills in managing work sequence conflicts and adhering to strict deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Capable of navigating uneven and moving surfaces, entering confined spaces, and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Requires a 28/14 or 14/7 rotation with the flexibility to travel extensively to nationwide project sites.

Reporting:

  • Reports to the Marine Transportation Department and assists the Operations Team.

Location: Nationwide, with potential for remote work based in Charleston, South Carolina.
