Job Description

Position Summary:
The Director of Estimating at Curtin Maritime plays a pivotal role in steering the company's estimations and bid proposals for dredging and marine construction ventures. The position entails overseeing the bid process lifecycle, from the initial research to the final compliant bid submission, ensuring accuracy, competitive pricing, and strategic project alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the entire bid and proposal process, ensuring all submissions are timely, compliant, and complete.
  • Manage bid deliverables, aligning them with the company's strategic goals and operational strengths.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to gather essential bid information and monitor progress.
  • Analyze risks and opportunities associated with each bid, incorporating innovative construction methods into proposals.
  • Maintain active engagement with clients, industry trends, and market opportunities, representing the company in various professional capacities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in dredging or marine construction estimation, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in dredging equipment, production analysis, pump dynamics, and pipeline routing.
  • Proficiency in bid-related software and tools such as Excel, AutoCAD, and HYPACK.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities, organizational capabilities, and communication skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in managing complex cost packages.
  • Valid driver’s license and TWIC card, with the willingness to travel as required.
