Maintenance Manager

Position Summary: The Maintenance Manager holds a pivotal role in handling the upkeep and readiness of all owned and hired equipment within the company. Their stewardship extends to the tidiness, functionality, and orderliness of the facility's buildings, ensuring that the entire premises are conducive to professional operations and geared towards supporting the staff comprehensively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the condition and functionality of all company equipment, ensuring everything is suitable for daily use and within safety standards.
• Oversee rental equipment management, including regular safety checks and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain the cleanliness, order, and upkeep of the facility's buildings and grounds.
• Manage a maintenance team, organizing work schedules, and delegating specific tasks.
• Establish and enforce a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and repairs.
• Liaise with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services or equipment upgrades as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager, particularly in an industrial or maritime context.
• Strong managerial skills, with the ability to lead a maintenance team effectively.
• Competence in planning maintenance operations and preventive maintenance measures.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to support company-wide operations.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• The job includes both office and field work within a shipyard or maritime facility.
• Must be able to move around the site easily, occasionally lift items, and engage with hands-on tasks.
• Preparedness to respond to emergencies and urgent maintenance needs, possibly outside of standard working hours.
• Compliance with all company safety protocols and determination to instill safety practices among the team.

Reporting:

• Reports to the General Foreman or Operations Manager.
