Outfitting Supervisor

Position Summary: The Outfitting Supervisor is tasked with steering various projects through to completion, as designated by the General Foreman. This demanding role includes leading skilled labor crews, providing clear coordination, instruction, and endorsement to attain distinct project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all assigned outfitting projects within the shipyard.
• Collaborate with the General Foreman to align project objectives and resources effectively.
• Direct skilled labor teams, ensuring that tasks are understood and executed proficiently.
• Coordinate project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and standards are upheld.
• Implement effective communication strategies among crew members and across departments.
• Actively monitor, evaluate, and adjust workflows to enhance efficiency and output quality.
• Enforce safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the workplace.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in marine outfitting or similar supervisory roles in the marine industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate workers and maintain high morale.
• Proficient in project coordination, with an aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making.
• Comprehensive knowledge of outfitting techniques, equipment, and standards.
• Capacity to interpret complex blueprints, plans, and technical documentation.
• Dedicated to rigorous safety practices and compliance within the marine construction environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Dynamic shipyard setting, calling for both indoor and outdoor supervision of projects.
• Physical agility to move around the construction site, climb ladders, and sometimes engage in hands-on activities.
• Must adapt to variable weather conditions and can tolerate noise and vibrations typical of a construction site.

Reporting:

• Reports to the General Foreman or Operations Manager.
